Fish Positioning Sounder (FPS) 
The Star-Oddi Fish Positioning Sounder (FPS) transmits its location (GPS code) to the DST GPS fish tag. The FPS is intended for use in lakes, rivers and small ocean areas. The sounder can be placed on a small vessels/boats or in fixed position such as buoys. When used in fixed position it can be programmed to send its ID only.  The FPS consists of the base unit (red unit pictured to the right), GPS receiver, transducer, battery pack and the PosStar application software.
The Star-Oddi sounder can be programmed from a computer to transmit a fixed position or be connected to a GPS antenna transmitting continuously as the position changes. Transmitting range of the Star-Oddi sounder can be set up for ca. 300 hundred meters.
