High Temperature recorder

Overview
  • The Starmon hi-temp was designed for power companies who wanted to record temperature in water pipelines
  • For starting measurements or retrieving data, simply unscrew the end cap and connect the communication cable between the recorder and computer.  SeaStar software for Windows is used for communicating with the recorder
  • Has an external thread, 1/2" size, for screwing the recorder into water pipelines
  • The Starmon hi-temp is a low power consumption recorder.  It is powered by a single lithium battery (1/2 AA size) that normally lasts for 5 years and batteries can be replaced
  • Starmon hi-temp is calibrated to an absolute accuracy of +/-0.5°C.  Resolution is 0.025°C.  Calibration coefficients are kept inside the recorder
  • Measuring range 0 to +90°C -Specified accuracy is maintained over this temperature range
  • Starmon hi-temp has a memory capacity of 350,000 measurements

Starmon hi-temp is a temperature recorder designed for use in high temperature ranges.  Starmon hi-temp records the temperature and stores the data in memory. The recorder is supplied with SeaStar software and a PC communication cable, which are the necessary accessories to operate and communicate with the recorder.  When Starmon hi-temp is connected to a computer, the software can be used to set up the sampling interval and start time of the recordings.
After the recordings, the data can be retrieved by connecting the Starmon hi-temp to a computer and use the software to upload data.  The data can be processed and presented in graphs and in tabular form.  All measurements are time related.  Data can be exported into other data processing software.  Starmon hi-temp has an all titanium housing.
Applications
The Starmon hi-temp was designed for power companies who wanted to record temperature in water pipelines. When customers complain about the temperature of the water coming into their houses, the Starmon hi-temp is a good instrument for collecting temperature data and for verifying the temperature fluctuations.  It could be used to record temperature in pipelines in people's houses.  It has an external thread that can be screwed into the pipe and the temperature probe is sticks into the water-flow.  The recorder is left there for collecting temperature data. It can also be used by power companies to monitor temperature within their own power stations.

Easy to use
For communicating with the Starmon hi-temp, a special cable from Star-Oddi is supplied.  When the end cap of Starmon hi-temp is unscrewed the recorder's plug becomes accessible.  The cable is connected from a PC computer to the recorder's plug .  When the recorder is connected and online, it is powered by the PC computer, saving battery power.  Data can always be retrieved because the recorder is powered through the computer via the communication cable.
SeaStar - Graphic supporting software for Microsoft Windows
The SeaStar software allows the user to define the start time of recordings (year/month/date, /hour/min).  The user also defines the sampling interval, which can be from 1 second to a few hours.  The Starmon hi-temp automatically gets the clock from the PC computer once connection is established.
The SeaStar software retrieves the accumulated data and processes it in graphs and tabular form.  Maximum, minimum and mean temperatures are found.  The data can be exported to other data processing software.  Graphs can saved as bitmap (bmp) or Windows Metafile (wmf) files.
