I cannot establish any communication between the tag and the PC. What should I do?
First check if all cables are properly connected. If you still cannot connect to the PC try to turn the tag in the Communication Box to find a spot with a better signal. Basically, the tag is communicating with the box when the green light is on. Still, there can be differences in the strength of the signal so try to turn the tag in a position inside a broad green light range. You should also update your software to the newest version.

If I cannot connect my tag to a PC/my tag is broken, is all my data lost?
If you cannot retrieve any data measurements are still saved in the logger‘s memory if the logger was started in SeaStar and no significant physical damage was caused during usage. If you have this kind of problem we will most likely need you to send us your logger. Please contact our customer service to learn about what you should do.

The PC I started my loggers with is not available. Can I upload the recorded data to another PC?
Recorded data from the recorder can be uploaded to any computer where the application software SeaStar is installed.

Can I use my new tags with an older Communication Box?
In February 2008 Star-Oddi upgraded it‘s Communication Box for the centi size for faster download/upload speed. Communication boxes that were produced before this time are not compatible with tags produced today. If you would like to know if your Communication Box will work with your newly ordered centi loggers you can check the serial number on the box housing: if the number starts with C7 you will be able to keep your old Communication Box.
Please do note that this only applies for Communication Boxes for centi sized tags. Milli and micro Communication Boxes are compatible with loggers from all production years.

Can I use the Communication Box that I bought for my centi sized tags, also for smaller sizes?
No. The Communication Box has to fit the loggers‘ size exactly. This means, that even though smaller tags would fit into the Communication Box you won‘t be able to use them together. For milli sized tags you will need a milli Communication Box and for micro sized tags you will need a Micro Communication Box.

Can my product be recalibrated? What do I have to do?

I do not understand the principle of the Logic feature. Can you explain it?
The Logic feature was developed as a memory saving feature. The user can choose a certain pressure (depth) limit where the logger starts/stops recording. The logger is in sleep mode when above the predetermined pressure.
If you choose the Logic feature for your logger all parameter measurements are recorded at the same time – primary and secondary parameter settings with different measurement intervals are not possible. The logic feature can be applied on DST centi-ex, DST CTD, DST centi-TD and DST pitch & roll.

Is the extended memory feature available for all DSTs? How much can I increase the memory space in my logger?
Memory extension is possible for the centi and the milli sizes.
For the centi size a memory increase to 523,800 measurements is possible. This feature is available for DST centi-T and DST centi-TD. 

For the milli size memory can be increased by replacing the EEPROM memory with a FLASH memory that has a capacity for 682,000 measurements in total. Flash memory is available for the products DST milli-T, DST milli-TD and DST milli-L.
