The main purpose of the pasteurisation of beer is to improve the biological stability of the final product. To achieve acceptable results it is imperative that the requirements regarding the pasteurisation equipment from user's point of view is fulfilled.
Star-Oddi has customized its DST milli Data Storage Tag for the beer industry and is now offering DST milli-PU a small pasteurisation data logger that fits easily into bottles and cans. The temperature and pressure data is stored in its internal memory. The pasteurisation formula is then calculated in the supporting software.
This application involves logging temperature and pressure during storage and transportation. Pressure building up can occur from residual CO2 or expansion due to temperature changes both of which can push the cork out of the bottle resulting in leakage or loss. The advantages being able to put the temperature and pressure logger inside the wine bottle, it will not affect the normal filling and corking process.
Being able to place the logger inside the wine bottle and send it down the production line gives realistic picture of what happens, from that point forward.
