The DSTs and Starmon recorders can be programmed with a sampling interval of one second, and up to several hours. The recorders and the data tags can be programmed with more than one interval, if desired. The SeaStar software retrieves the accumulated data and processes it in graphs and in tabular form. The software gives numerous possibilities of data presentation, and values can be shown as m/bar (depth/pressure) and Celsius/ Fahrenheit. The chart can be edited and zoomed in, saved as an image etc. The data file can be imported into other software programs as well.

Seastar Overview

The DSTs are operated with the SeaStar software and a communication box, which is connected to a PC computer. All communication and data transfer is wireless via the box. The com box comes with a 9 pin serial cable and a USB serial converter cable.

Communication Box Overview

To connect to the Starmon Temperature Recorders a communication cable is used which is connected between the recorder and a PC computer. The cable from box is a RS-232C standard serial interface cable, but a USB serial converter cable is also supplied.

Star-Oddi offers protective housings for the DST, for use under more harsh environmental conditions it can for example be fastened to fishing gear or when the DST is used as a stand alone logger. The protective housing is made of polyurethane plastic.

Star-Oddi offers Stainless Steel protective housings for Starmon mini.  It can for example be used in aquaculture, for mooring applications or to be fastened to fishing gear.

Wire fasteners for DST protective housings and Starmon mini Temperature Recorders. Ideal for fasten the equipment to fishing gear, long lines, for use in fixed positions and in harsh environment. The wire fasteners are made of non corrosive stainless steel with two clamps to ensure secure fastening. The length of the wires can be adjusted to fit the application.
