- The DST comp-tilt measures additionally to temperature and depth, relative compass heading of the DST, with reference to the magnetic north, and tilt in 3 directions.
- The data for the compass heading and tilt are showed in degrees (°).
- Compass measurements are tilt compensated, meaning that an increase in tilt has little influence on the compass accuracy.
- The compass measurements have +/-10° accuracy, and tilt +/-2° accuracy.
- The tag can be programmed with different sampling intervals for compass-tilt and temperature-depth.
The sensor can be used for analysing movements of marine animals as well as various underwater gear. For analysing fish movements, it is advised to fasten the tag at both ends for avoiding / limiting movements of the tag. For this external tagging application, Star-Oddi offers specially designed fastener kit where the DST com-tilt is fastened to a plastic plate.

DST series is supported by the SeaStar software for Windows, and a communication box which connects to a PC computer. All communications and data transfer is wireless via the communication box. DST is inserted into the box for establishing communication, using the SeaStar software. Before use of the DST, the user sets the sampling interval and start time of recordings. After recapture of DST, the data is retrieved to a PC computer, using the communication box and SeaStar software. The logger can be re-programmed and reused as long as battery lasts. The data is shown in graph and table, each measurement has its own date and time.

As a start kit, you need one or more DST loggers, one communication box and the supporting software SeaStar. The communication box comes with a serial cable, and a USB converting plug.
Star-Oddi employs very competent employees with many years of experience in electronic engineering and sales of scientific equipment for various research applications. The more information you can give us we are more likely to help you find the right product.
