    Small size and long battery life

    The DST micro-HRT is a small heart rate and temperature logger that weighs only 3.3g with diameter of 8.3 mm and length of 25.4 mm. This being the world smallest heart-rate logger you’ll get a battery life that can last up to several months, depending on sampling frequency and measurement interval.

    Leadless, Minimally Invasive

    The DST micro-HRT simultaneously measures long term heart rate and temperature in the study animal. The logger has no external wires, which makes it especially simple to implant. It is made of unique ceramic housing and epoxy and is hermetically sealed, guaranteeing biocompatibility.

    Application

    The logger is ideal for a variety of studies looking at heart rate dynamics. Including those studying behaviour, energetics, stress response or environmental challenges in the fields of fish physiology, animal welfare and other research on wild or captive aquatic animals.

    Leadless ECG Derived Heart Rate

    The heart rate is derived from a leadless single channel ECG. As the electrodes are part of the housing the logger is especially easy to implant. The logger takes a measurement of ECG (e.g., 15 seconds long) at the set time interval and calculates the mean heart rate for each recording. For validation purposes, individual ECG measurement can be saved. In addition, each measurement is graded with a quality index (QI).

    Stress-Free Long-Term Studies

    The logger is especially useful when a comprehensive data set throughout the research is needed with no disturbance to the animal. The micro-HRT logger has a battery life of over 3 months, when a measurement interval of 10 minutes is chosen.

    Single or multiple intervals

    There are two modes to set the measurement interval, either at a single interval throughout the period or multiple intervals. Multiple intervals are especially useful when frequent measurements are needed at certain time periods, or an extended measurement interval is needed to extend battery life.
